Thank Lord for the unity and beautiful voices from our TRC Youth Choir singing almost on every Sunday worship .
Now I can understand more why we came to church on Sunday praise Lord . we not only like to hear our minister give sermon of God's word also importantly to enjoy while the Choir praise the song of joy to God from their botton of the hearts indeed ! May God bless each one of the Choir member . special thanks to the choir condutor-- Rebeca for her long term commitement and devotion to led the youth choir !
Glory be to God !
Bravo to Pianist Shirley and Joseph's violine on today's Sunday service , the music was beautiful and harmoney .
Jesus persists in his singular invitation to us to follow him.
When his teaching conflicts with our understanding and complicates our life, how often our natural response is to make life easier by rejecting Jesus all together, just like some of the disciples who went away. Mechanically attending church and serving alongside unlovely broken but proud people can sometimes solicit a similar reaction. Why bother? It's too dull, too hard and miserable! (Among the crowd, people were saying 'who could accept this? v.60)
But wait, is it really too hard? Is anything too hard for God. Jeremiah 32:26-7 says nothing is too hard for God! and Philippians 4:13 says 'I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.'
If it is not too hard, then it is a question of want: I don't feel like it. Why not have alternatives and my own say in things? Of course, we have choice, there are plenty of alternatives. Among the disciples, some chose to follow until the end and some chose to give up.
Each one of us who has been invited to follow Jesus should THINK with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and not follow one crowd or another. Lest we come to church out of habit. Lest we grumble against God and His instruction Just because it is popular, logical and convenient to put God down in the current culture. Be original and be honest.
I rejoice this morning for the brothers and sisters who had been away or had struggled about 'church' but who nevertheless chose to come to worship the Lord on Sunday.
The teaching of Jesus is supposed to challenge us, from time to time. If they don't, then you are not reading the words of God properly. The same can be said of preaching from the pulpit - they ought to challenge our easy assumptions of who God is. But if we stay with it, like the disciples who stay with Jesus, something good happens.
May we find strength from the Holy One in everything we do.
P.S. Special thanks to Jeal, Yo, and Kenny who have been taking extra care of Ivy, whom is in our prayer.
Following Jesus is certainly not an easy decision but I truly believe it is the best decision you can make in life. Though there are times when you question where He is when so many things are going wrong, it takes faith not to be shaken in those times. There are always times when we don't understand parts of the Bible and it is then that I really cherish the brothers and sisters with whom I can bible study with. We can share our ideas and different perspectives and to try to seek what God is trying to teach us. As God told us, if there are two or more gathered in His name, He will be amongst them.
Pray that we may seek Him daily, to be able to know what God's will is in our life. Also pray for those who struggle and decide to give up their faith. May God place angels around them and bring them back into His loving arms.
I must thank God again for Joseph's violin and Shirley's piano. They are heart-melting!
Thank God also for this year's Urbana attendees from TRC: Michael Yen, Yosheng, Chantal, Hilary, Melanie, Candy, Timmy, and Aaron. Hopefully, we'll be able to learn very much from the conference to come so as to be able to contribute new ideas and energy to our church!
Thank God for the consistent study group members. This period of time has allowed us older students to get work done as well as share some of our studying habits and skills with younger kids.
oops... missed Joseph whose also attending :)
