Scripture: Luke 13: 31-35
Jesus' Sorrow for Jerusalem
31At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, "Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you."
32He replied, "Go tell that fox, 'I will drive out demons and heal people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.' 33In any case, I must keep going today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!
34"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! 35Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'"

耶穌為耶路撒冷悲傷

Sermon Outline 講道大綱:
- Persecution and the threat of death was the background by which Jesus preached the Gospel. 耶穌宣揚福音是在迫害和死亡威脅的背景下進行。
- Herod Antipas was the one who already had John the Baptist killed. He inherited the bloody hands of his father King Herod, who had previously executed all the infant boys in Bethlehem when Jesus was born.

- This real threat of death was the background that all disciples of Christ would face throughout history, and even today.

- Jesus faced this persecution and death with strength and tenderness. Strength in walking towards Jerusalem without fear, tenderness in expressing his enduring love even for those who would seek to harm him.

- The story of the people of Mizoram who were mostly Christian. In 1987, they were absorbed into the greater India, a predominantly Hindu nation. The Presbyterian Church in Mizo played an important role in guiding the people to become a missional people, now freely traveling in India and preaching the Gospel to everyone.
