Scriptures: Acts 使徒行傳 8:1-8, 14-17

1And Saul was there, giving approval to his death. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. 2Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. 3But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.

4Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. 5Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ there. 6When the crowds heard Philip and saw the miraculous signs he did, they all paid close attention to what he said. 7With shrieks, evil spirits came out of many, and many paralytics and cripples were healed. 8So there was great joy in that city.

14When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. 15When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 17Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

¹ 從 這 日 起 ， 耶 路 撒 冷 的 教 會 大 遭 逼 迫 ， 除 了 使 徒 以 外 ， 門 徒 都 分 散 在 猶 太 和 撒 瑪 利 亞 各 處 。 ² 有 虔 誠 的 人 把 司 提 反 埋 葬 了 ， 為 他 捶 胸 大 哭 。 ³ 掃 羅 卻 殘 害 教 會 ， 進 各 人 的 家 ， 拉 著 男 女 下 在 監 裡。 ⁴ 那 些 分 散 的 人 往 各 處 去 傳 道 。 ⁵ 腓 利 下 撒 瑪 利 亞 城 去 ， 宣 講 基 督 。 ⁶ 眾 人 聽 見 了 ， 又 看 見 腓 利 所 行 的 神 蹟 ， 就 同 心 合 意 的 聽 從 他 的 話 。 ⁷ 因 為 有 許 多 人 被 污 鬼 附 著 ， 那 些 鬼 大 聲 呼 叫 ， 從 他 們 身 上 出 來 ； 還 有 許 多 癱 瘓 的 ， 瘸 腿 的 ， 都 得 了 醫 治 。 ⁸ 在 那 城 裡 ， 就 大 有 歡 喜 。… ¹⁴ 使 徒 在 耶 路 撒 冷 聽 見 撒 瑪 利 亞 人 領 受 了 神 的 道 ， 就 打 發 彼 得 、 約 翰 往 他 們 那 裡 去 。 ¹⁵ 兩 個 人 到 了 ， 就 為 他 們 禱 告 ， 要 叫 他 們 受 聖 靈 。 ¹⁶ 因 為 聖 靈 還 沒 有 降 在 他 們 一 個 人 身 上 ， 他 們 只 奉 主 耶 穌 的 名 受 了 洗 。 ¹⁷ 於 是 使 徒 按 手 在 他 們 頭 上 ， 他 們 就 受 了 聖 靈 。

Sermon Outline 講道大綱:

• After Stephen’s death, a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem. Christians were being rounded up and dragged to prison. Saul was leading the persecution.
• 司提反死後，針對耶路撒冷教會的迫害大大的展開來。基督徒遭到圍捕入 獄。是掃羅主導這個迫害行動的。
• The Apostles were probably in a state of shock; paralyzed while watching everything that they had built being torn to pieces. – “all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria” (v.1)
• 使徒們或許餘驚未了，眼看他們所建立的一切遭到瓦解的命運而無能為力---「除 了 使 徒 以 外 ， 門 徒 都 分 散 在 猶 太 和 撒 瑪 利 亞 各 處」(v1)
• “Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.” (v.4) God used this great persecution to begin to fulfill the mandate in Acts 1:8, that “you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
• 「那 些 分 散 的 人 往 各 處 去 傳 道 」(v4) 神 用這樣的大迫害開始履行使徒行傳第一章八節所交代的任務「聖 靈 降 臨 在 你 們 身 上 ， 你 們 就 必 得 著 能 力 ， 並 要 在 耶 路 撒 冷 、 猶 太 全 地 ， 和 撒 瑪 利 亞 ， 直 到 地 極 ， 作 我 的 見 證 。」
• Philip the evangelist (see also Acts 21:8), one of the seven deacons, not the apostle Philip, went to Samaria and proclaimed the Christ there.
• 傳道的人腓利(參看使21:8)， 是七位執事中的一個，而不是使徒腓利，到撒瑪利亞傳講基督。
• He did the miraculous signs, cast out evil spirits, and healed others – this was the first time, other than the apostles, that the power of healing and casting out demons were granted by the Holy Spirit.
• 他行神蹟奇事、趕鬼醫病—除了使徒以外，聖靈將醫 病趕鬼的能力賜給人，這是第一次。
• Through the perseverance of Philip, the faith of the apostles were renewed and strengthened. When they heard that Samaria had accepted Christ, Peter and John were sent to pray for them and to baptize them with the Holy Spirit.
• 因著腓利的持之以恆，使徒的信心才從新得力振做起來。當他們聽到撒瑪利 亞人已經接受基督時，就差彼得和約翰前往替他們禱告並用聖靈施洗。
• Philip continued to preach the gospel wherever God commanded him to go – first to an Ethiopian eunuch (v.26-39), through the region of Azotus, then settling at the gentile town of Caesarea (v.40)
• 腓利順著 神的帶領到處傳講福音—先是向 埃提阿伯女王的太監 (v.26-39)，接著走遍亞鎖督全地直到該撒利亞。
